What’s New on take2theweb?
We’ve listened to our Millennium Schools and we've built take2theweb for you. It's the new generation website building kit for Millennium Schools members. We've now released version TWO. You'll find hundreds of improvements in take2theweb - far too many to list, so here’s a summary:
Size and Structure
Any Size You Want - You can choose one of the standard take2theweb site sizes (e.g. T2W Maxi, T2W Super, T2W Hyper, T2W Ultra, T2W Mega) or you can specify any number of sections, pages and contributor accounts you want and we’ll supply your site. AND you can add more sections or pages or contributor accounts whenever you want.

Multiple Contributor Accounts - The new take2theweb account system has been developed specifically for schools and colleges and allows a number of user types. Each person only gets access to the sections or pages you wish. Readers can read only, Contributors can write pages, which they submit to your Editors who can publish pages. You can change the number and range of contributor accounts at any time.

Student Portfolios - It’s now practical to give every student his or her own password protected take2theweb pages to build their work portfolio.

Private Pages - You can use the new password system to make sections of the site private. You can have a password protected section that only your staff can see, or a special section only for parents.

Nested Websites - With take2theweb you can create nested site structures (i.e. websites within websites).

Multiple Websites - You can now publish any number of take2theweb sites under joint branding, so departments in a school could have separate co-branded sites or all schools in a Local Authority or a special project can share a logo and site banner, while having freedom beyond that to define their individual branding and content.
Design and Content
Under Your Control - you have complete freedom to manage the content of your site including:
  • Overall design: logos, banners, background images

  • NEW! - Now you can define your own footer banners and footer navigation

  • NEW! - better site-wide text formating: font, size, colour, justification

  • NEW! - more flexible layout and design of individual pages.

Flexible Navigation - Millennium Schools uses left-hand side navigation only. take2theweb adds top of page navigation, navigation from within the body of pages via images or text, and the ability to hide the navigation buttons of pages which users access via other means.

Flexible Grid Layout - this powerful new layout template gives you full control over the position and justification of all text and images on the web page, including spanning blocks of text across multiple columns of images, or spanning of images across multiple blocks of text. You can include uploaded files and slide shows in any page.

Forms Creation Tool - easy to use forms tool lets you design your own user feedback form. You define the number and types of fields including multiple choice tick boxes, radion buttons etc and you can have the form sent to any email address you choose.

Multimedia Upload - You can upload almost any kind of file to your site, including: Word documents, pdf, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, Flash files, Sound files, Video replay files etc.

Slide Show - You can easily create a slide show from a group of images

Image Links - You can add any kind of link to an image (internal external, email mailto) and create image maps.

Multiple Image Formats - Web sites usually accept images in only jpg or gif format. The take2theweb system will accept a large number of image formats (eg. bmp, tiff, AppleWorks etc)

Image Optimisation - take2theweb automatically converts all images formats to jpgs or gifs and automatically optimises them for best display speed and quality.

Image Resize and effects - With one-click you can re-size your images to standardised sizes, or user-defined sizes, and add image effects such as drop-shadows and borders.

Browser Support - You can edit your take2theweb site in almost any web browser and from any computer including PC, Mac and Linux.
Support
Unlimited Support - There’s a frequently updated on-line guide you can see whenever you’re logged on to edit your web site. Intuitive Media includes unlimited technical support by email to all take2theweb customers. You can also phone for help and advice.

Hosting - The take2theweb service includes hosting of all data, backup, data security and maintenance.
Power Users
HTML Code - You can build an entire take2theweb site without using any HTML code. However, you can, if you wish, insert HTML code into any page to achieve specific effects or customised layouts.

CSS Code for Power Users - If you want to over-ride take2theweb site-wide style definitions on any page or to use other special effects and layouts, we can set up your take2theweb site so you can insert Cascading Style Sheets definitions.
