The webs are monitored. Beyond this they offer forums for discussion and email connectivity. They are a coalescence of the Usenet and the World Wide Web.
Each web is open to resident experts, scholars and beginners alike. Projects of many kinds can be undertaken on a global basis. Initially, they will appear randomly according to interest. For teachers and students they will immediately provide a group of Internet resources around specific topics.
