Thomlinson Junior School currently caters for 243 boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 11.
The school is located in Westmorland House, which dates back to around 1799. The accommodation now consists of 10 teaching areas, offices, library, large hall, a multi-media computer suite and a special needs facility for children from the wider area.
The school also houses a Community Development Centre, a second multi-media computer centre, that is part of a European-funded project for adult re-training; its facilities are also available for use by local business and members of the community.
In addition to the grounds around the school's buildings, the School owns extensive playing fields adjoining Wigton Infant School only a few minutes walk away.
