   A little about our school
We have a very successful and happy school that is held in high regard by the local community and where our children tell us they are happy, secure and enjoy learning.
The staff and Governors value our Christian foundation and you will see this reflected in the high quality of care that we offer to all our children and in the breadth of the curriculum. We are an inclusive school where all members of our school family are valued as individuals and for the contribution they make to our high academic standards and pastoral care.
Our Christian ethos ensures that children are taught to be thoughtful and generous toward others.
We have high expectations of their work and behaviour but the children know that this is a safe place to make mistakes and to learn from them. Our Special Needs Education is a strength of the school.
Built in 1953, the school has grown steadily until today when we have 12 classes and 360 children with a waiting list of families for each year group.
Our site offers children two playgrounds, a climbing area, a butterfly garden and a conservation area. Our environmental education has been recognised with a National Eco School Award.
We have spent considerable funds on increasing and updating our ICT resources in school and now have Internet connections in every classroom.
We have been an Investors In People School for five years and we were recognised as an Investors In Pupils School in 2003.
In 2006 we were given the Healthy School Standard Gold Award and in 2008 we received the Active Mark Gold Award. We were also awarded the Arts Mark Silver award in 2007 and were recognised as a Fairtrade School in 2009.
We were one of the first schools to be awarded the Department for Educational and Skills’ School Achievement Award. We are justly proud of our results that place us well within the top 25% of schools in the nation.
Working closely with parents is important to us and there are many opportunities for you to become actively involved in the life of the school and that does not just mean fund raising. The Governors regularly consult with parents and include them in the school’s strategic planning processes.

   FOLIS
We have a very active group of parents who help organise a variety of events at school. Check out their own web site on http://folis.co.uk
