Accelerated Learning
Our whole staff, along with a few other schools in Middlesbrough, has recently attended 2 training days related to Accelerated Learning. This explores the way children learn, and encourages a variety of methods in teaching.
Other factors are taken into account, such as hydration and 'brain' exercises, to help the learning process.
We have introduced water bottles which the children can use at any time, and during some lessons there are 'brain breaks' for 'Brain Gym' exercises.

Philosophy for Children
Our staff recently attended a day course on 'P4C' which is Philosophy for Children. This encourages the children to ask questions about various stimuli and begin to see and value different points of view. They learn to listen carefully to each other and offer opinions. Mr Barnbrook and Mr Shildrick have been attending a number of training sessions.
