Introduction
|
Every year, Castlegreen school aims to provide each of its pupils with at least overnight or week-long residential experience which may include camping, outdoor activities or visits to historical places of interest.
Our residentials programme is very important to the personal development of our young people because they encourage both teamwork and independence as well as building self-esteem and confidence.

Derwent Hill is the most popular residential with several visits each year.
Derwent Hill is an outdoor activities centre owned by Sunderland LEA It is based in the small village of Portinscale, next to Keswick. It is perfectly situated to take advantage of the near by lake, Derwentwater, and the surrounding mountains and countryside.
