Between the 22 - 29 March, Year 12 & 13 Classical Civilisation students embarked on a journey of adventure and excitement to a mysterious land full of myths and legends - Greece! During our 3 days in Athens, we climbed (crawled up) two enormous hills, named many a stray dog, and caused havoc in Athen’s museums. There were Kodak moments on top of Mt Lykabettos and we saw a piece of cork older than Jesus at the Kerameikos museum. We then travelled to Tolon, on the way stopping off at the Corinth Canal. During the next 2 days we visited Epidaurus: thanks to Ben, Ben, Lottie and Daisy for your vocal talents! Then onto the ancient settlement of Mycenae. Recovering the next day, we travelled onto Olympia. We raced in the original Olympic Stadium and began to feel at home as it started to rain. The next day was our penultimate of our time in the land of poor toilet systems. We clambered up to the settlement at Delphi, past the Castallian Spring, up to the Stadium and then back down into the museum. We ended our trip with a prize-giving ceremony and a last, quiet (!) night in Delphi. It was a trip full of fun and sightseeing. Thank you to Mr.Owen, Mr. Wood, Miss Copley and Miss Morland - you brave souls. Sarah B & Becky K.
